DH Johnson - Producer

DH Johnson Headshot

D.H. Johnson is an actor, producer, artistic director, and founder of The Cardinal Group.

He produced and appeared in Keith Reddin's Brutality of Fact at Urban Stages directed by Stephanie Yankwitt. In 2007, The Cardinal Group produced the NYC premiere of Leslie Caveny's Love of a Pig at the 45th St. Theater, which D.H. also directed.

The Cardinal Group also produced Mrs. Barry's Marriage, written and performed by Bronwen Coleman and directed by Anna Jones.

As an actor, D.H. has appeared in NY in Crazy Little Thing, Office Sonata, Book of Days, Victor/Victoria, Sideman, and Bedroom Farce. He appeared in the Academy Award winning short film Two Soldiers, and will soon appear in the short film Flat Love with Isabella Rossellini.

Richard Pepenella - Producer

Richard has a long history with the theatre on and off stage.

An actor, singer, writer, producer, he is currently the business manager for The Cardinal Group, and has worn several other hats over the years.

He has been with the Cardinal Group since its first production Brutality of Fact by Keith Reddin, and was a producer on both Mrs. Barry’s Marriage by Bronwen Coleman and Love of a Pig by Leslie Caveny.

In other areas, Richard is particularly proud of his work as coordinator and emcee for Men In Rouge an HIV/Aids benefit show and party raising money for three grass roots support organizations.

Most recently, he performed on recordings for the shows Alice and Warsaw by William Wade, and can be heard on Stephin Merritt Showtunes available on Nonesuch and iTunes.

Carly J. Price - Producer

A stage manger by day- this is Carly’s first venture into producing.

Recent New York: Center City Encores!, The Boy in the Bathroom, Night, Rainy Days and Mondays (re-titled Circuitry) and The Blue Martini.

National Tour: Henry & Mudge.

Regional: A Streetcar Named Desire, The Santa Land Diaries, Das Barbecu, The Matchmaker, Beautiful Star and the world premiere of Brother Wolf.

Opera: Le Nozze di Figaro, Madama Butterfly.

Education: University of North Carolina at Greensboro, BFA in Technical Production.

Katie Bender - Writer

Katie Bender is thrilled to have her play This is a Cowboy Poem my Daddy Taught me have it’s premier at The Abingdon Theater.

Her last play BAZAAR, ran with good reviews at The Electric Lodge in Los Angeles California.

A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Katie has performed and worked in various theaters around the country.

Stephanie is so so excited to be working with such an amazing creative team on this play.

Seriously, its all really thrilling! With the Cardinal Group, Stephanie directed Keith Reddin's Brutality of Fact.

Other directing/assistant directing credits include: November (Broadway), Letters to the End of the World (NYU), The Receptionist (MTC), 365 Plays (Suzan Lori-Parks--Partial Comfort Productions), as well as a one act play for the evening of Atlantic Theatre School’s one-act plays in March.

It is an unbelievably gratifying and rewarding gift to get to work on Katie’s play, and for that there is a great deal of thanks.

Brianne Mueller - Stage Manager

Brianne Mueller originally hails from Milwaukee, WI and is thrilled to finally be home in New York City.

A recent graduate of Lawrence University with a BA in theatre arts, Brianne has most recently finished an internship with Attic Theatre in Appleton, WI.

Previously, she was the theatre department intern for her 4 years at Lawrence, a stage manager for 2 years in their nationally recognized music conservatory, and was lucky enough to have an internship with Shared Experience in London.

She has stage managed and directed numerous shows - from "The Winter's Tale" to "The Vagina Monologues", but is most proud of her senior project "Counting the Ways" by Edward Albee.

Jennifer L. Adams - Costume Design

Jennifer L. Adams recently finished her MFA work in Costume Design at Brandeis University. Costume design credits include Top Girls, Letters to the End of the World, and As You Like It (Stella Adler Studio of Acting) The Physician of His Honor and The Suicide (Brandeis Theatre Company), The Night of the Iguana (Cambridge YMCA Theatre).

John Wolf - Lighting Design

Triad Stage: 18 productions including the world premieres of Brother Wolf, Debunked and Beautiful Star. Regional: North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, Mill Mountain Theatre.

Eric C. Dente - Sound Design

is an Actor, Director, Playwright and Sound Designer. www.ericdente.com Eric is a founding member of The Watermark Ensemble and director of The Drama Garden new play development as well as a member of The First Look Theatre Company at NYU/Tisch School of the Arts under the Artistic Direction of Gary Garrison. Eric is also a proud member of The Dramatists’ Guild of America and Actors' Equity Association. Sound Design: Eric is a winner of the International Stellar Network Sound Design competition. Playwright Credits: A Loser’s Hand co-written with k.c. keene , which had it’s world premiere at the Tennessee Williams Festival in September of 2006. Sandy Shores Shenanigans and Homecoming Hullabaloo both co-written with k.c. keene , which had their world premieres at The Theatre Arts Center in New York in 2006 and 2007. Three Men In Search of a Pair of Shoes Original Production at The Nomad Theatre in 2000 and Nominated for a Denver Drama Critic Award, Apartment X “The New Bed” Apartment X “First Love” and Apartment X “Something Fishy” a three part serial comedy first produced at The Denver Civic Theatre in 1997. The Bottomless Cup first produced at The Denver Civic Theatre in 1996. Appropriate Dress Required first produced by the Theatre Buffs Student theatre program at The University of Colorado in 1995. Bagels, Brecht and the Bourgeoisie produced by Dependent Productions in the Dorie Theatre in 1995. Brother, Mine, Graffiti on a Van Gogh and two comedies: The Redford Incident and Langress and Munger are his most current works. Eric has been a member of the Playwright’s unit at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York . Eric has directed shows in New York and around the country including: The Denver Civic Theatre, The Footlights Theatre, The Nomad Theatre, ATA, New York Theatre Arts Center, The Play Group Theatre, Civic Center, Summerstage and for Compass Theatre Company.
